I am very glad I showed up to the library this afternoon. It was a very moving and informative presentation about women's rights and the hard work they put in to achieve it. It's sad that in our society or our society in general has generally been viewed as second class citizens. Many women have achieved feats equal to that of their male counterpar t. Many women came together in 1917 and created the National Women's Party. This party was very influential In American history. This gave women an outlet or a voice to change the old ways of thinking and prove their equal status to man. Many women were beaten by their husbands and sometimes raped because they would come home under the influence of alcohol. Which caused them to develop behaviors that financially and morally affected their family. This helps sparks women's role in the prohibition movement. This act alone showed women's ability to participate actively in politics. Not too long after that, women got the right to vote in 1920, a civil right that was long overdue. This was one huge milestone for women's rights in America. There are many still many achievements left to be made, but it wi happen slowly and surely. To me the next frontier is equal treatment in the work force. This can positively affect women and negatively at the same time. They will have to be treated as any other worker and no special treatment. At the same time that respect is earned in that process. In my opinion women already deserve respect and equality in the work place. I would also lime to see women play a more vital role in politics. There are few prestigious female politicians such as ex-secretary Ri ce and Hilary Clinton. I think this is a good sign for what's to come in the future. We need to change our cultural views so eventually this discussion will be a thing of the past. It's all about how we act.
I'm not a very lucky person, trying to do my home homework has been a disaster. The Internet in my area is out and have been to multiple houses trying to find some sort of source of Internet. I eventually found my friends iPhone and is currently using his data to type this for class. What sucks for me though is that I have a smartphone but is worthless because it is broken. I really dislike android system phones; they are too fragile and mulfunction easily. I need to get an iPhone because without one I would not have been able to submit this blog tonight. It's so hard to type on a digital keyboard rather than a physical because my fingers are big. So I hope I get a good grade on this blog. Onto other news I really enjoyed the discussion we had in class. I liked the argument over women's rights and their roles in society. I think history reflects how we view a woman's role in society as less than equal of a male. Even black males got the right to vote before women in the post civil war era. But I do believe women are playing a much more vital role in society and have been liberated from the common housewife role. Even though hip hop and pop culture try to reflect that the only important aspects of a woman are their looks and promiscuity. I think society as a whole is getting better though. People just need to realize that alot of the stuff is slander and they need to make the choice of whether they support the music or not. Some people's values are more important than the music they listen to. The time is slipping away from me, it is so difficult for me to type that I do not know if I have enough time to submit the other blog even though the presentation in the library was very moving and informative.

I like the video we watched in class. It shows the real side of the meat industry and dog pound. I believe the way we handle these animals is in humane and wrong. There should be a way to improve the conditions. I'm still going to eat as much meat as I want. Hamburgers and steaks are just to good to give up. I do my part though, I work with the Cherokee county humane society. I love working and helping these dogs. It’s sad to me how some of these animals have lived and that their owners have abandoned them. I think every dog deserves a home and any dog can be rehabilitated. Animals are pure and innocent in my eyes, people shape them depending on their attentions. My dog personally would give her life for me. She has always loved me unconditionally and will always love me. I treat her like family, she even sleeps with me. She is pretty big though, she is a 115 pound German shepherd. She thinks she is a lap dog at times. The only thing is, she isn't socialized, this causes me many headaches. She doesn't like people and is very territorial. She is dog friendly though. It’s amazing how smart she is, she opens doors and keeps watch over the house. That is a bad combo when you have friends over and you don't want them to get bit. She is always on look out, and defends the house very well. So people need to be cautious, no one walks in to my house without me checking to see if my dog is loose. Its funny because I want to adopt a pit bull too. I think my friends are never going to come over any more. It’s all good though, I need a break from time to time.
